Originally from Bonita Springs, Florida, Staff Sergeant Daniel Rosman holds a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and Bachelor degrees in Clarinet Performance and Music Education from Florida State University. Prior to his studies at Northwestern, SSG Rosman was a high school band director in the Florida panhandle, and presented clinics and masterclasses throughout the state, including a clinic at the FMEA conference on clarinet pedagogy for non-clarinetist band directors. At FSU, SSG Rosman proudly represented the College of Music as Head Drum Major of the Marching Chiefs, where he led the band in performances across the country, most notably the 2013 College Football National Championship and the 2014 Rose Parade. At Northwestern, his graduate teaching responsibilities included mentoring all first-year clarinet students at the Bienen School. SSG Rosman’s clarinet teachers include Steve Cohen, Mark Nuccio, Deborah Bish, and Paul Votapek.
